Safety Considerations: Phototoxic! Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds for 12-24 hours after applying Bergamot topically. Do NOT apply Bergamot undiluted to the skin or in a bath. Serious burning and/or damage may occur if Bergamot is used on the skin and then exposed to sunlight and tanning beds. It may be used safely on the skin with no phototoxic effect in a carrier oil at a max dilution of 0.4%. Oxidized citrus oils have an increased potential for skin irritation.
